We are delighted to announce that three Polish research institutions: Institute of Geophysics PAS, Academic Computer Centre Cyfronet AGH, and the Central Mining Institute, by the decision of the Polish Minister of Education and Science, received financial support for their activities within the EPOS TCS AH (Thematic Core Service Anthropogenic Hazards) international consortium. The decision of the Minister is a response to the application for funding for the "TCS AH Thematic Core Services Anthropogenic Hazard" project,  submitted within the programme "Support for the participation of Polish scientific teams in international research infrastructure projects." The application received a positive evaluation by the Council of Experts appointed by the Minister of Education and Science and recommended for funding for the years 2021 -2023.

The application was based on the participation of IG PAS – the project leader, ACK-UST and CMI in the international consortium TCS AH. TCS AH is one of nine thematic core services of the European Plate Observation System (EPOS) - a multidisciplinary, distributed research infrastructure that facilitates the integrated use of data, data products, and facilities from the solid Earth science community in Europe. Since 2018 EPOS has had the legal status of the European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC). 

The TCS AH international consortium consists of 13 institutions from 8 European countries. The mission of TCS AH is to integrate data and software applications to study seismic and other geophysical hazards caused by the exploitation of the Earth's resources. Technical resources of TCS AH are data centers connected with the system server - digital platform EPISODES (former IS-EPOS, https://tcs.ah-epos.eu/), located on IT infrastructure of ACK Cyfronet AGH. The largest data center is located in IG PAS. IG PAS also hosts the TCS AH consortium. The TCS AH consortium, likewise the approved Polish TCS AH project, is coordinated by Professor Stanisław Lasocki.

The approved Polish project "TCS AH Thematic Core Services Anthropogenic Hazard" is the following example of the Polish support for the activity of Polish scientific teams in the EPOS programme. The previous backings were provided in the frameworks of the national projects: "IS-EPOS - Digital Investigation Space of Induced Seismicity for EPOS Purposes," "EPOS - European Plate Observation System - EPOS-PL" and "EPOS - European Plate Observation System - EPOS-PL+.”
