The Challenges of Global Water Security: Linking Policy to Water Solutions

On June 9, 2021 (Wednesday), IAHR is organizing a Webinar on the Challenges of Global Water Security: Linking Policy to Water Solutions, the fourth webinar in a series, to focus on the world’s increasingly severely stressed large aquatic and marine ecosystems and discuss how policy and associations, such as IAHR, can contribute to creating impactful engineering and research solutions to address these challenges. 
This free webinar will be live streamed on the IAHR website from 6am Los Angeles | 9pm New York | 1pm UTC | 2pm Central Europe | 6.30pm New Delhi | 9pm Beijing.
This webinar will have three speakers: Ms. Cate Lamb (CDP) will focus on investor interest in the corporate response to water security and why it matters; Prof. Angelos Findikakis (Bechtel Corporation and Stanford University) will focus on outlining policies as a system of principles that guide governance; and Prof. Peter Goodwin (University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science) will focus on the scarcity of water and the unpredictability of this precious resource in terms of timing, quantity and quality.
Sponsored by China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, this webinar is led by IAHR’s Working Group on Global Water Security. The chair of the working group, Prof. Roger Falconer (Cardiff University), and the vice chair Prof. Arthur Mynett (IHE Delft), will co-chair this webinar.
