IS-EPOS platform presented to the general public

During an international conference to Digital Research Space for Anthropogenic Hazard Studies, 19-20 November in Katowice.

The conference, which brought together over 120 representatives of academia, industry and geophysical students from all over Europe, was organized at the end of the prestigious project of the IS-EPOS: Digital Research Space of Induced Seismicity for EPOS Purposes, carried out in our Institute by Prof. Stanislaw Lasocki (project manager) and Prof. Beata Orlecka -Sikora (Director of the Institute of Geophysics PAS), in cooperation with consortium members of the Central Mining Institute, ACK Cyfronet AGH and the Coal Company.

The project is funded by the Operational Programme Innovative Economy 2007-2013 (more than PLN 16,7mln; 85% of which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund). Supervising institution is the National Centre for Research and Development. The result of the project IS-EPOS is a digital platform which is fully functional prototype of the integration of research infrastructures anthropogenic hazards.

During the first session day the participants presented the result of a project that is IS-EPOS digital platform, providing access to integrated data of induced seismicity and data processing services.The conference participants took part in discussions on joining European infrastructure initiatives in and proper, for the requirements implementation of innovative solutions, cooperation between science and industry.

On the second day, during the workshops, future users could get acquainted with the platform.
